Vibe coding is the practice of building real software through tight, intentional collaboration between a senior operator and a capable AI system. The operator brings the thesis, the architecture, the taste, and the accountability. The AI brings throughput. Done well, it compresses what used to take a quarter into days, without giving up the things institutional buyers and auditors require.
Done badly, it produces unmaintainable code, hidden risk, and false confidence. The difference is discipline.

- Thesis before codeWe do not generate until the thesis, the user, and the success condition are written down. AI is too fast to be pointed at the wrong target.
- Senior driver in the seatVibe coding is leverage for senior operators. It is not a substitute for engineering judgment, architectural taste, or product sense.
- Small, reviewable diffsCode ships in small, intentional increments that a human can read, reason about, and roll back. Big-bang generations are a smell.
- Tests, evaluations, and traceEvery meaningful behavior has a test or evaluation attached. Generated code without verification is technical debt that compounds at AI speed.
- Auditability by designLogs, prompts, model versions, and decisions are captured so the system can be explained to a regulator, an auditor, or a board — not just demoed.
